In Denmark, Jan Bonde Nielsen’s name is primarily associated with the B&W Shipyard and, not least, with the accusations that led to a years-long court case against him. Fortunately, his life has been much more than that.
He was fully acquitted but, disillusioned with the business climate, chose to leave Denmark to continue his business career abroad. First in the London property market – where he, among other things, bought the famous Wembley Stadium – and later in the oil industry in Russia and Georgia. Today he lives in Kenya, where, at the age of 87, he continues to be active in several business and charitable projects.
